Timeline and Information For Tomorrow

27 Feb by Dan Gashaw

Hello Morton Wrestling Family -

Tomorrow is a big day for us. Tomorrow we start the IESA State Series by competing in the IESA Regional Tournament. The timeline for tomorrow is as follows:
- Coach Arrives at MJHS @ 6:00 am
- All MJHS Regional Wrestlers at MJHS @ 6:30 am
- Weigh Ins @ 7:00 - 8:00 am
- All Wrestlers Not Competing in Regionals at MJHS @ 8:00 am
- Wrestling Starts @ 9:00 am

We are going to set up the Kiln tonight before practice so that the wrestlers can sleep in as long as possible. All wrestlers that are not competing at Regionals need to be at MJHS by 8:00 am.
Make sure that you have everything you need for the tournament (wrestling shoes, headgear, singlet, Morton Wrestling apparel, knee pads, mouthpiece, etc.). It is also important that you bring plenty of good food fuel and hydration.

How IESA Regional Tournament Works
The IESA Regional Tournament is set up as a "Follow-the-Leader" style of bracketing. What that means is if you lose in the first or second round, the wrestler that beats you has to advance to the finals, or you are out of the tournament. The top 3 placers in each weight class will advance to the IESA Sectional Tournament in Jacksonville, IL next Saturday (the 4th place wrestler will be the first alternate).

A big Thank You to all the families that are going to volunteer their time to help this weekend. I know that I am pretty biased, but I believe that we run on of the best Regional tournaments around, and a big part of that is all the help we get from our Morton Wrestling Family.

Once the tournament in over, I will need the wrestlers to help transport one mat over to the High School for the IKWF Regional Tournament that will be held on Sunday. They are providing us a trailer to transport the mat. So we will need help loading the mat on the trailer, and unloading it at the High School.

If there are any questions, please let me know.

KEEP ON!
